Strange pictures...

This is what I have been doing to his pictures...

The Staff uses a program called Pottyshop or something to work on his photos...
me, myself, miaow just need to use my imagination next door to the nearest wifi printer...
it is a bit restricting really as the Staff and Staffette haven't bothered to buy me one!

However, all is not lost, I've mastered the way of saving them!
These are some of the Staff's pictures that I've played with recently...

Sometimes his pictures can be blurry... but this treatment seems to help... I've turned these into abstracts.

Some recorder players...
...and a Violinist!
I've found other pictures that look abstract to start with...

This was some swirling water.... I'm calling it "Electric Water"

And this one is "Jack Frost's DNA"... it was a simple picture of ice crystals until I started playing with it...

Jack's Double Helix
Then I tried combining some pictures...

I took this "Vortex"...

The Vortex
and then chopped bits out of some of his other images... and came up with this....

Into the Vortex... going where a 2CV hasn't gone before.
A 2CV may not have gone into one... but where I come from, we use them to go from one point in space to another....

Cats in Space Rule... Okay!!?

Pictures and pig fat...

My brother and I don't go near the gate... there are bignoisythings out there... but "Thatothercat" is used to it and often vanishes across the road. He came back last night all covered in oily marks on his head... he doesn't like the bignoisythings either and I think he's trying work out how to sabotage them. We get taken in one, once a year, to have a needle stuck in us.... but that's another story. We turn right out of the gate for that one.

If you turn left, you come to a little village with traffic lights in the middle....
these seem to go on and off at random...
the staff say it is to slow down the bignoisythings...
but I think it was something that was put up for the annual Art exhibition last year and forgotten about.

The annual show is called L'Art et Lard....
which the Staffette says is pronounced "Lar et Lar"...
apparently the French like this sort of word play...
each to their own...
I'll leave it as "Pictures and pig fat".

I visited it late on Saturday this year...
I slid sideways through time....
[we can do that very successfully...
you humans think that we are dreaming]
and took a look at the outside exhibits...
there were some fish...

Redfisch

on sticks...

Whitefisch

in a pool...

Bluefisch
not very convincing...
but translating the 'blurb' it seems that they were made from the stuff your species chucks off ships...
one even said "Concentrated Washing-up Liquid" on the side.

Take a look at the hazard information.... there's an excuse not to wash up!!

Another outdoor collection was by a Japanese person, Akyo Suroshi, and one of his pieces of outdoor art was bits of tile put along the branch of a tree...

"Procession"

Another work appeared to be trying to get a tree to grow electrically...

Windpower!!

I decided to create some bits here to see if anybody noticed.... I quite like Autumn leaves so, seeing that some tidying up could be used, I created this....

Leafy spiral.

And then I saw that he'd put some sticks up between two trees.... wow! What hard work...

V for Victor...

So I thought... "Cats climb trees... I like leaves.... Hmmm? I can do better than that..."
I saw some golden autumn leaves lying on the ground [which the Staff later said were from a Tulip Tree]... I put these artistically up a bare length of ivy stem. Here is the result...

Golden Leaves

Then it started to rain.... apparently the actual event on the Sunday was a washout... but the Staff and Staffette went down there... I know that because I found all these pictures on the files here.
Going on the number of pictures I found, they seemed to have particularly liked my artwork.... so reassuring!!

Flying pig...[s]

They went out to Tours the other day... to see off a guest....
and went for a meal near the station...
a restaurant called "Le Chien Jaune".

When they came back, they were moaning about the tough steak...
I wouldn't have...
all we get is things that have about 4% 'real' meat....
the rest is probably minced up bone and pressure wash collected fibre and connective tissue...
I think you humans call the last one 'gristle'?

Mind you, the Staffette was weighing out some mince... for them, please note... this afternoon.
Having bagged it up, she saw a bit that she'd missed... so she put it in my bowl...
expecting me to go all purr-purr.... IT WASN'T EVEN COOKED!! Huh!!
Mind you, my brother then went and ate it... but he eats Voles!

Anyway...
on the Staff's picture area I found these....
and realised why the meat was tough...
the real money paid for the artist!

l'accordioniste

Cheers, Santé, Oopyourza!!
The chase is on!!
You'll have to click on this one....
to see all the detail!

Whose shoes?

As promised, I've been trawling through the staffs' collection of photographs on their outdated communications system and I found this beauty....
It is of the statue of Ronnie Descartes... he's meant to be some kind of pollygamist... or should that be polymath? Anyway, he was born in La Haye, just down the road, so they decided to rename the town Descartes.
Every now and then, on a Sunday morning, we get left here while the Staff [or both Staff and Staffette] go to market in Descartes.

One of them took this shot there... I don't know how long he's been standing around, but Ronnie is obviously ready for a change of footwear... I think the ones with the silver buckles will probably be a good swap for his fancy lace bows, don't you?
He does seem to be looking at those and not the others.... or being a great "Thinker" is he wondering "And what is 50€ in old Francs? How much?!!"
"Hmmm... fur lined boots... perhaps not... silver buckles or white pumps... I need to feel the soul!

Dogs and Cats... no, that's the wrong way round!

I've just been reading on Ken's blog about Callie and Bertie...
and how Bertie is being tormented by a dog that thinks a cat is the same as a sheep...
and can be herded....
herding cats is like trying to fold mercury...
it can't be done!

When our ears go flat you silly dogs...
we are annoyed...
very, very annoyed....
and we'll slash out.

My Staff's Border Collie found this out as a puppy....
the catatthattime was eating its supper, tail out straight behind, when a cheeky young pup pounced on the twitching furry object.
The catatthattime swung round and slashed that young pup across the face...
it got him a goodun, too, right across the eye...
much eye ointment later and that dog had LEARNT that the superior race was to be obeyed...
not pounced on!!

You, dear reader, might be wondering how I, a humble cat, know all this...
well, read and learn.
When we cats cuddle up on your lap and purr, we are not there for the company....
we are...

READING YOUR MIND!
Or possibly uploading your next set of instructions.....

We are the Master Race!

Thoughts from the back of the sofa

I'm on a 'regime' [diet to the non-french]...
The Staff and Staffette think I'm too heavy.
They've even nicknamed me "Oooof!" because the vet said that on picking me up... hmph!

I've noticed that they are putting less in my bowl... and more in my brother's.
Except for the crunchy... the biggest amount goes in my bowl... but I don't get a chance to eat it!
NO! They've obviously told my brother about the 'regime' because, no sooner is it served up, his head is in MY bowl and I have to walk round to his and eat what they've put in there.
Sometimes he eats his fill from my bowl and I can get my 'fare' share... except the Staff has been hanging around recently and picking up my bowl if he's left me any... 'snot fair, 'snot....
I feel hungry all the time!

And my brother eats those vole and mice things...
it's not as if he's going hungry...
and he weighs much more than me!!!

Thoughts from an armchair....

What does a cat have to do around here to get near the laptop...
and I like a bit of lap! {Actually I like a lot of lap}
That ginger whinger is still around, more's the pity.
Seems my brother is begin to think he's not too bad... fool!
I'm glad that snow's gone....
having both of them indoors was getting on my nerves...
now at least they are both out and about a bit.
Means I get more lap too.

Some other humans came visiting today...
they had a dog with them...
Baron tells me that it was excitable...
he was outside when they let it out of their car.
I wasn't.

Me outside....
only when it suits me to go...
today wasn't one of them.
I did go and look at the snow though...
interesting stuff...
looks like dandruff, tastes like water on the rocks.
I managed to comment on someone else's site today... they'd noticed my thoughts!
